Benedikt Alexander Surmann completed his Bachelor of Science in Economics & Law at the University of Münster (WWU) from 2016 to 2020. He then went on to study Law, specialising in Public Law which he completed in 2023 with the First State Examination in Law.
Since August 2023, Benedikt Alexander Surmann has been a Junior Researcher and PhD Candidate at the Chair of Prof. Dr. Emanuel V. Towfigh. Within the Chair, he is particular the responsible contact person for the Diversity and Refugee Law Clinic of the EBS. The current working title of his dissertation is “The New Guardians of Law and Order”. Based on judicial research from the 1960s/70s, the thesis will focus on the profession of judges in Germany.
