The Junge Akademeie at the Berlin-Brandenburgischen Akademie of Sciences and Humanies and the National Acamy of Scienes Leopoldina (Berlin-Brandenburgischen Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Nationalen Akademie der Wissenschaften Leopoldina) accepted Emanuel Towfigh as a member during a ceremony on June 18, 2011, after he had already been co-opted by the members of the Junge Akademie during the spring plenum.
