CHE university ranking 2019/2020: EBS Law School holds top position

Results of the CHE university ranking 2019/20

The ranking published today by the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE) in the ZEIT study guide 2020/21 and on ZEIT CAMPUS online once again confirms the highest level of student satisfaction at EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht. The study programmes Law and Business Studies are among the top performers.

The current students were asked about study conditions, support during studies, the range of courses offered or the organisation of studies. They also assessed the career orientation, academic or practical relevance or the IT infrastructure. In addition, CHE collects facts about teaching and research.

The study programme Law at EBS Law School, the youngest law faculty in Germany, was ranked in the top group in all twelve categories of the student survey. The general study situation, for example, is rated with a grade of 1.3 – a grade that was also awarded to the areas of course offerings, study organization and support during studies. Excellent scores of 1.2 were awarded for career orientation and academic relevance. Business Administration at EBS Business School is also convincing: the programme is ranked in the top group. It scored 1.3 in core areas such as course offerings, study programmes and support as well as academic relevance, with the category Career Orientation Offers to receive a first-class grade of 1.2. EBS Universitäts Career Service Center offers students comprehensive counselling and workshops on all aspects of career guidance. Regular networking events and career fairs bring students into contact with potential employers at an early stage. “For university entrants, the CHE ranking provides important orientation when choosing a place to study,” said University President Prof. Dr. Markus Ogorek. “We are delighted with this result, which reflects the satisfaction of our students and at the same time proves that our concept is working: education at a high academic level with close practical relevance.” With around 120,000 students surveyed and more than 300 universities and colleges examined, the CHE Ranking is a comprehensive and very detailed comparison of higher education institutions in the German-speaking countries. Every year, one-third of the subjects are re-evaluated. In 2020, the study programmes business administration, economics, business studies, business informatics, industrial engineering, business law, social work, law and, for the first time, business psychology were analysed.
