Graduates of EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht are among the most sought-after young professionals in Germany. This is refelcted in the results of the recently published WirtschaftsWoche University Ranking 2019, based on a survey among personnel managers. EBS Universität ranked sixth in business administration and tenth in law.
The independent university ranking of the “WirtschaftsWoche” is based on a survey of 650 HR managers from German companies of all sizes conducted by the consulting firm Universum Global. The consultants asked from which universities these prefer to recruit employees. The ranking thus deliberately focuses on the practical relevance of university education.
“This excellent result is a renewed confirmation of the quality of our business administration and law study programmes. We set high academic goals for our students, and at the same time we support them in achieving them – this makes them resilient, team-oriented, creative, highly-trained professionals. This is why HR managers like to hire them. This can also be seen in our ever-increasing circle of corporate partners”, emphasises Prof. Markus Ogorek, President of EBS Universität.
Practice-oriented Business Adminstration study programme
In the field of business administration, EBS Universität improved by one rank compared to the previous year and reached sixth place. Business administration studies at EBS start with the EBS Onboarding Project, which is unique in the university landscape. During the first three weeks of their studies, new students gain diverse insights into the key disciplines of business administration, for instance marketing, strategic management and entrepreneurship, while establishing initial contacts with business partners and getting to know fellow students, tutors, professors and alumni. Practitioners are involved in the curriculum right from the start, so students are ideally prepared for the challenges of the corporate world.
Commercial Law study programme
“We are also particularly proud of our ranking in the top 10 in the category legal studies. In 2018, Hesse’s best law graduate once again came from EBS – for the third time in succession This shows us that our practice-oriented and academically sound training concept works,” says Prof. Dr. iur. Markus Ogorek. Thanks to the close connection between the two faculties, economic studies have been part of the law programme from the very beginning. Due to the business law orientation of EBS Law School, students regularly spend their three internships in international business law firms. However, students already gain practical knowledge during their studies. The intensive teaching involvement of renowned law firms and companies ensures that students are in close contact with practice and are able to build up their own network from the first trimester onwards.
